We are an informal get-together group of cancer patients for cancer patients - different cancers, different stages, different treatments. Anybody with cancer at any stage is more than welcome to join, to talk together, exchange ideas and meet others in an informal setting in a safe place.

Meeting other cancer patients and making new friends, sharing experiences, having a whinge and a moan and a giggle together and of course to have fun - this is what chatterbox is all about.

My name is Kirsten and I was diagnosed with lung cancer, stage 3B, at the age of 53. After the shock of the diagnoses I felt that I was the only person with cancer in the world and I also thought that this is it!

I was so scared!
Through Macmillan I participated in a pilot theatre project and this opened my eyes: there were other people with cancer, different cancers, different stages and we talked and laughed and suddenly there was a glimpse of hope and some positivity. After the project finished I missed the openness and honesty of the group and I started chatterbox in April 2019. I have made many friends through chatterbox and I am so grateful for all the people and their support I met since - I wouldn't be where I am now without you guys! Thank you!
